Josue Clavel, 22 and Damaso Bravo, 32 were captured by a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task force hiding with their girlfriends in a Brownsville, Texas hotel.

“ I cannot stress how members of the Tampa police department have worked tirelessly around the clock to find those responsible and bring justice to these victims, said Tampa Police Chief Mary O’Conner.

The Marshals service believes the two were about to flee into Mexico to escape justice since Brownsville is directly on the border. Neither suspect has any family in Mexico and both of them are residents of Hillsborough County.

Both suspects are Latin Kings gang members. Clavel was the shooter of the deceased man and faces charges of first degree murder. Bravo faces three counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, a premeditated murder charge, and two counts of attempted murder as well as possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

The victims were all part of a wedding party that were celebrating at the club, and the deceased man was in Tampa visiting from California for the wedding. The two suspects appear to have been up to no good. Apparently, an argument broke out between the two parties around closing time. Both parties were escorted out of the club where the argument continued.

The suspects then left to retrieve their guns and came back. That’s when Clavel and Bravo started shooting into the crowd. When the shooting stopped, one man was dead, and six other people were shot and taken to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Clavel and Bravo are still in Texas awaiting extradition back to Tampa.
