Naples, Fla. – Today, Greg Folley, conservative candidate for State House District 81, announced the endorsement of State Representative Spencer Roach. Greg was the only candidate to qualify by petition this week and has maintained a strong fundraising lead in the race for the Southwest Florida seat being vacated by State Representative Bob Rommel due to term limits.
State Representative Spencer Roach represents House District 76 in the Florida Legislature, which includes De Soto and parts of Charlotte and Lee counties. Roach retired as a Judge Advocate from the U.S. Coast Guard in 2016 after 20 years of active-duty military service as both an enlisted member and commissioned officer. During his two decades of service, Roach’s assignments included tours of duty in Alaska, a six-month combat deployment to the Middle East enforcing UN sanctions against Iraq, and service in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast.
In the state legislature, Representative Roach has worked hard to improve education, advocate for property insurance reform, and keep our state the Free State of Florida. In April, Roach announced that he would not be seeking re-election to the Florida House.

“I am honored to offer my support to Greg Folley in his campaign to serve the people of House District 81,” said Representative Spencer Roach. “Greg has experience serving in every branch of government, and during his tenure on the Marco Council, he has built a solid track record of lowering taxes and limiting government to its proper role. His experience in local government, success in business, and lifelong adherence to conservative principles ensures that he will be ready to tackle the tough challenges facing Florida on his first day in office. As I prepare to leave public office, I am focused on ensuring that the SW Florida delegation retains a strong position of statewide influence, and Greg has proven to be a competent and courageous leader that will keep Florida free, keep Florida safe, and keep Florida prosperous.”
“Representative Spencer Roach has served Florida and his district with the utmost dedication and integrity,” said Greg Folley. “He has worked tirelessly to serve the best interests of his constituents and fight for our constitutional liberties in the Florida Legislature. Spencer’s commitment to making life easier for Floridians and addressing the real issues facing the state is inspiring. I’m very grateful to have his endorsement in this race for State Representative in House District 81.”
Greg Folley’s spirit of service led him to seek a career in the Navy, beginning with the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. However, during his sophomore year, after suffering two injuries during training, he was medically discharged from the military and completed his undergraduate studies and law school at the University of Notre Dame. During his professional career, which spanned nearly 40 years, Greg practiced labor and employment law, served as labor counsel for American Airlines, and then served as lead labor negotiator and later Chief Human Resources Officer at Caterpillar. Greg also led several of the company’s largest and most profitable divisions, leading teams of over 10,000 employees in 18 states and 18 foreign countries on six continents. Greg and his wife, Margo, are full-time residents of Marco Island. Since 2020, Greg has held a position on the City Council, serving a stint as Chairman from 2022-2023.
