St. Augustine, Fla. — Today, Kim Kendall, candidate for State House District 18, announced the endorsement of St. Johns County Tax Collector Dennis Hollingsworth. Since launching her campaign, Kim has been endorsed by an impressive slate of state, local, and military leaders, political organizations, and business owners.
Dennis Hollingsworth joined the St. Johns County Tax Collector’s Office in 1978 as a field inspector and title clerk. In 1984, he ran a successful bid for St. Johns County Tax Collector and has served in the position ever since. A St. Augustine native, Hollingsworth maintains strong ties and involvement with the St. Johns County community. He is an adjunct professor at both Flagler College and St. Johns River Community College and is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Historic St. Augustine, where he served a stint as President. Hollingsworth has also held the title of director on boards for several community organizations in St. Johns County.
“Ms. Kendall has a proven record for knowing this district by her tenacious work ethic,” said Tax Collector Dennis Hollingsworth. “She has been seen at schools, industry, nonprofit, government, and first responders to learn, listen, and formalize a way to improve her constituents’ lives. I have confidence that Ms. Kendall will represent me and the people in my district well.”
Kim Kendall’s career includes working as an FAA air traffic controller and owning two dry cleaners. She has been married to her husband, Kelly, for 30 years and has two adult children. Kim has been a strong advocate for education and parental rights in Florida for many years, chairing statewide literacy initiatives, working on state-appointed education task forces, and serving as state education chair for the Florida Federation of Republican Women.
“I’m incredibly honored to have the endorsement of our St. Johns County Tax Collector Dennis Hollingsworth,” said Kim Kendall. “He has been a strong local leader for us here in St. Johns for many years, and our community is better because of his unwavering commitment to integrity and the conservative values that we cherish.”
Additionally, Kim grew up on Naval bases from Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, to Subic Bay, Philippines, giving her unique insight into veteran and military affairs. With this background in important community issues, Kim will be a strong conservative leader in the Florida House and will use her passion and experience to get things done for the people of District 18.
