Single Ladies Watch Out – Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner Is Getting Divorced

Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner, who got married on January 4th of this year, is getting divorced from Teresa Nist, the Golden Bachelorette he decided was the one after telling two other bachelorettes that he loved them. That’s three months of wedded bliss, making this the shortest marriage in history for the oldest couple they’ve ever showcased on Bachelor Nation.

Viewers already despised Gerry before the show aired because he let it be known that he pronounced Gerry as Gary, showing that Gerry was a bit pretentious and annoying, but that was nothing compared to all the crying he did on air. But is dealing with a man crying so bad in the name of love? It isn’t for these hot-to-trot ladies.

Fast forward, and while fans are expecting a show about some lovely, accomplished older people finding love and sending the hopeful message that you too can find love at any age, they quickly came to learn that Gerry was a player who was no better than a horny adolescent boy wandering around an all-girls school.

Gerry had this to say about his divorce announcement;

Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and — and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to — dissolve our marriage,” Turner told Juju Chang in an interview for “Good Morning America.

Single women may want to be wary of soon-to-be-divorced Gerry. On the show, Gerry claimed that he hadn’t found love since his high school sweetheart wife passed away six years earlier. Still, articles emerged claiming he had seriously dated one woman who claimed that he had jilted her when she gained ten pounds before a high school reunion they were supposed to attend together. Ouch.

The warning signs were there; viewers could see them even in a heavily scripted show. The last few women on the show didn’t leave feeling great about this guy because it looked like he led them on. He told at least two that he loved them, didn’t pick them, and chose someone else, leaving them dumbfounded and shocked. When questioned about why he did this, he said that “he meant he loved them in that moment.”

Towards the show’s final episodes, it looked like he would pick a woman named Leslie, who was really into him. They seemed to have a lot of chemistry, but then, after a conversation with Theresa where she told him about her job, Gerry’s eyes lit up with dollar signs like a cartoon character, and she was the one.

Janice Hannighan,  owner of the fabulous Winston’s Nail & Facial Lounge in West Palm Beach, had this to say;

I thought he was going to pick Leslie, but then Teresa started talking about all of her finance sh*t, and his d*ck got all hard, and he went for her. ~Janice

My response.

Word. I thought this was the Golden Bachelor, not the Gold Digger Bachelor. ~Tracy

According to the USA, the Bachelor and Bachelorette shows have about a four percent success rate in terms of marriages. A few couples have been married for many years and have children.

JP Caruso, the stepson of Florida Jolt’s Tracy Caruso, was on one of the Bachelorette shows. Two of his close friends were on the franchise. When asked if anything on these shows is real, he said,

It’s real, but to transfer it to the real world as newly famous and public people is damn near impossible.

I then asked about fan favorite Tyler Cameron, who has now appeared on several reality shows and can be seen at 3Natives, two of which he owns in Boca Raton and Delray Beach with JP Caruso. When he was on the show, he lost to a guy who ended up having a girlfriend at home, but Tyler’s ending is happy. He has a new show on Amazon in a couple of weeks, showing that some good can come from reality TV.

However, if you’re looking for love, you may want to meet people the old-fashioned way, through dating websites.
