Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker has come under fire in the last two weeks over allegations that he was an absentee father for one of his children and paid for an abortion for a former girlfriend.
Walker is in a tightly contested Senate race with incumbent Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), who currently leads the race by a 3.9% margin, according to a 538 polling average.
Senator Rick Scott, R-Fl., the National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman, has decided to stand firmly behind Walker as in the final month of the midterm elections.

Scott came to the defense of Walker in a recent interview with FOX News digital, saying that Democrats will ‘destroy’ anyone who stands in the way of their agenda.
“The Democrats want to destroy this country, and they will try to destroy anyone who gets in their way,” Scott told Fox News. “Today it’s Herschel Walker, but tomorrow it’s the American people.”

Scott went on the offensive against Senator Warnock, saying that he is leading the effort to ‘destroy’ Georgia’s values and economy.
“I’m on Herschel’s team — and they picked the wrong Georgian to mess with. I’m proud to stand with Herschel Walker and make sure Georgians know that he will always fight to protect them from the forces trying to destroy Georgia values and Georgia’s economy, led by Raphael Warnock.”
Walker has reportedly seen a surge in fundraising since the flurry of attacks against him took place last week.

The Florida Senator called the accusations against Walker a ‘smear’ on a radio show this week. Scott has defended other Republican Senate candidates who have come under attack this election cycle, such as Ohio’s J.D Vance and Pennsylvania’s Mehmet Oz.
”This is just Textbook 101 for the Democrats … it’s just lie, cheat, and smear. That’s what the Democrats do,” Scott told radio host Hugh Hewitt Wednesday, comparing the attacks on Walker to attacks on Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas.

He further said that Democrats are unleashing a wave of last-minute attacks against Republican candidates because they are projected to lose the 2022 midterms, reiterating that the attack against Walker is a lie.
“When the Democrats are losing, as they are right now, they lie and cheat and smear their opponents. That’s what’s happening right now. They know they are on the verge of losing the Senate, and they know that Herschel Walker is winning, so they have cranked up the smear machine.”
