Republican Senator Chuck Grassley revealed that a foreign national, who allegedly paid Joe Biden a bribe, has audio recordings of damning phone interactions between himself, the president, and Hunter Biden. Senator Grassley also said the informant kept the information as “an insurance policy” in case he needed leverage on the president.
Speaking on the Senate floor, the Iowa senator elaborated on the contents of the unclassified FD-1023 memo that the GOP has been fighting to get from FBI director Christopher Wray.
“The 1023 produced, to the house committees, redacted reference that the foreign national who allegedly bribed Joe and Hunter Biden allegedly has audio recordings of his conversations with them. 17 such recordings. According to the 1023, the foreign national possesses 15 audio recordings of phone calls between him and Hunter Biden… the foreign national possesses 2 audio recordings between him and then Vice-President Joe Biden.” ~Senator Grassley

The whistleblower memo was created in 2020 and is based on information from a “highly credible” informant. Though much of the information in the document is unconfirmed, information revealed by the GOP so far hints at murky business dealings with Ukrainian Gas producer Burisma, alleging that Biden received a five million dollar bribe from a company executive and made shady deals to get his controversial son Hunter on the corporation’s board of directors. The alleged behavior occurred while Biden was vice president under Obama.

Lawmakers have yet to see a complete and unredacted version of the document due to fierce resistance from Biden FBI Director Wray. Grassley slammed the actions of the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the United States Attorney for the District of Delaware, David Weiss, who appear to be working in concert to impede GOP efforts to hold President Biden accountable for any alleged criminal activity.
“Based on the facts known to the congress and the public, its clear the justice department and the FBI haven’t nearly had the same laser focus on the Biden family. Special counsel Jack Smith has used a recording against former President Trump. Well, what is U.S. attorney Weiss doing with respect to these alleged Joe and Hunter Biden recordings, that are apparently relevant to the high stakes bribery scheme? Getting a full and complete 1023 is critical for the American people to know and understand the true nature of the document, and to hold the justice department and the FBI accountable.” ~Senator Grassley

Grassley would also mention the indictment of President Trump, implying that, despite the open misconduct of other politicians, President Trump is the only one they seek to ‘hold accountable.’
“On the very same day that the FBI provided a redacted version of the 1023 [document] to the house oversight committee, the Justice Department then announced that former President Trump had been indicted and charged with 37 crimes relating to his alleged mishandling of classified records,” Grassley remarked, “two standards of justice in this country will turn our constitutional republic upside-down.”
