Rubio, Cotton Warn Law Firms to Prepare for Congressional Oversight

The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) movement weaponizes the influence of large corporations in an attempt to reshape society by adopting far-left social and environmental agendas.

U.S Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) sent a letter to 51 law firms reminding them of their duty to inform clients of the antitrust risk they incur by pursuing ESG initiatives. The letter advises law firms to preserve documents relevant to their ESG practices in preparation for congressional oversight of antitrust violations arising from illegal ESG collusion.

“Over the coming months and years, Congress will increasingly use its oversight powers to scrutinize the institutionalized antitrust violations being committed in the name of ESG, and refer those violations to the FTC and the Department of Justice. To the extent that your firm continues to advise clients regarding participation in ESG initiatives, both you and those clients should take care to preserve relevant documents in anticipation of those investigations.”

Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), and Mike Lee (R-UT) also signed the letter.
