Rubio, Colleagues Call Out Biden Administration’s Disinformation Campaign

Despite the Biden Administration’s claim that plans to create a “Disinformation Governance Board” were off the table, recent reporting suggests that the board’s underlying mission has continued in private.

U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Roger Wicker (R-MS), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Jim Risch (R-ID), and Ted Cruz (R-TX) sent a letter to President Joe Biden demanding more information on the administration’s efforts.

  • “When the federal government colludes with social media platforms behind closed doors to censor Americans’ speech, it sets a dangerous precedent that cannot be easily undone. Without transparency, authoritarians masquerading as elected officials will continue their campaign of pressuring social media platforms to censor content that is not government approved, chilling free speech and causing irreparable damage to democratic institutions in the process.”

Flashback… Rubio called for President Biden’s “Disinformation Governance Board” to be defunded.

Looking forward… Rubio will continue to advance legislation, such as his PRESERVE Online Speech Act, to protect free speech and expose government censorship efforts.
