Elizabeth Ailes, the widow of Roger Ailes, memorialized her late husband by ripping into Fox News for what the network became under Rupert Murdoch after its former chairman and CEO was pushed out of the job.
Ailes took to Twitter on Monday to wish her late husband a “Happy heavenly birthday” and used the opportunity to bash the performance of her husband’s replacement.
“Happy Heavenly Birthday Roger Ailes. It took you 20 years to build Fox News into the powerhouse that it was and only 6 years for the Murdochs to wreak havoc. Rupert thought he could do your job. What a joke. He has the checkbook but could never come close to your genius. RIP.”
Several observers on Twitter echoed the sentiment, expressing their dissatisfaction at the News conglomerate’s recent decisions.

As is evident from the responses, while running Fox News, Ailes was a titanic figure whose vision shaped the political landscape and the modern format of cable news television. However, he was ousted from Fox in 2016 when Gretchen Carlson, Megyn Kelly, and other women on the network came forth and accused him of sexual harassment.
However, Ailes is not the only source of grief for the Murdochs. Former President Donald Trump has also spoken out emphatically against Fox News leadership. In a recent Truth Social post, Trump attacked the corporation for ousting Tucker Carlson and accused them of carrying water for Florida governor Ron DeSantis, who’s expected to announce his 2024 presidential run soon.

Even with Fox, he’s already pretty close to that again!”

Trump attacked Murdoch in a different Truth social post, slamming him for his statements during a deposition in Dominion’s recent lawsuit against Fox.
“Why is Rupert Murdoch throwing his anchors under the table, which also happens to be killing his case and infuriating his viewers, who will be leaving in droves – they already are.” Trump wrote.”There is MASSIVE evidence of voter fraud & irregularities in the 2020 Presidential Election. Just look at the documentary “2000 Mules” and you will see large-scale ballot stuffing caught on government cameras, or votes cast without Legislatures approval, or just recently, the FBI/Twitter files scandal.
