Riley Gaines Assaulted, Chased By Pro-Trans Mob – GOP Leaders Condemn Trans Violence
GOP lawmakers are calling attention to a recent rise in pro-trans violence after NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines was ambushed by protesters and punched repeatedly by a man in a dress. Gaines had been speaking about women’s rights in athletics at San Francisco State University (SFSU) on Thursday when she was attacked and forced to seek refuge in a safe room until police intervened. Republicans reacted to the disturbing footage and condemned the “far left” for the attack.
“The prisoners are running the asylum at SFSU,” Gaines tweeted Thursday night. “I was ambushed and physically hit twice by a man. This is proof that women need sex-protected spaces. Still only further assures me I’m doing something right.” The 12-time All-American swimmer posted a video showing mob of students chasing her through the hallway, shouting, “Trans rights are human rights!” and “Trans women are women!” Other protesters shouted for Gaines to “go the f–k home” and called her a “f–king transphobic b-tch.”
“When they want you silent, speak louder,” Gaines said after the attack.

Leading up to the video, Gaines was reportedly punched twice by a man wearing a dress. Other footage of the ambush shows Gaines being rushed through the halls by a security detail and eventually being shuttled into a safe room away from the angry crowd. “Why are you running!” a protester yells while charging in front of Gaines. “You crying! You f–king crying b-tch. F–k you!” one of them shouts.

Gaines reportedly hid in the room for around three hours, under the protection of law enforcement, while protesters continued to chant outside. At one point, the assistant dean of students attempts to calm the crowd and have a conversation. Protesters then demanded $10 each in exchange for allowing Gaines to leave the building safely.

After the attack, Gaines’ husband, Louis Barker reportedly told Fox News Digital that Gaines had been barricaded in the room for around three hours and was hit “multiple times by a guy in a dress.”
Republican lawmakers responded to the disturbing footage and demanded that SFSU hold the students accountable.
This is terrorism, kidnapping, and extortion. ARREST ALL OF THEM!” Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) tweeted. “The trans movement is out of control and a danger to children and our society. Transgender terrorists attacked… Trans women are NOT women, and they already have the same human rights every single other American has.”

“San Francisco State University and law enforcement must take immediate action to hold those who assaulted Riley accountable,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) told Fox News. “We will not allow the violent radical left mob to silence us.”
“I stand with Riley Gaines,” said Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL). “Political violence has no place in the United States. Those responsible must be held accountable. Our country should encourage civil debate and discourse, not tolerate radical mob rule that seeks to silence political opposition.”
University Police for SFSU stated that no arrests had been made in connection to the attack on Riley Gaines.
“We are conducting an ongoing investigation into the situation. There were no arrests related to the event. The disruption occurred after the conclusion of the event which made it necessary for UPD officers to move the event speaker from the room to a different, safe location.”
