Republicans dream the impossible dream of unseating Lois Frankel
Eight Republicans and one NPA are dreaming the impossible dream of taking out Rep. Lois Frankel, D-West Palm Beach, in the November election.
As of March 31, Lois Frankel, the incumbent, has $1,589,380.07 in the bank. Florida’s CD-22 is D+14, according to the website FIVETHIRTYEIGHT.COM.
House districts don’t get much bluer than that.
Republicans Adeimy, Arianas, Franzese, and Lawlor have already qualified, and I assume Dorilas will shortly.
According to Ballotpedia, the filing cost is $10,440 for a “Ballot-qualified party” and $6,960 for an unaffiliated candidate filing.
In this race, forget the Democrat Calabrese who’s primarying Frankel. Calabrese’s website says it’s no longer accepting donations, not that it would matter. Frankel is an old warhorse, and she’d crush this guy.
Sorry, but I never take NPAs as seriously as they take themselves.
Usually, I’m a “you can’t beat the math” kind of guy, and I still am.
When I saw how much money Frankel had and the D+14, I heard Robert Goulet singing “The Impossible Dream” in my head.
I still think this is an incredible long shot for Republicans, and most likely, the seat isn’t winnable, but what the heck?
Even democrat pollsters say the Democrats will probably suffer catastrophic losses in the mid-terms.
Democrats are destroying the country. Everything is falling apart before our eyes. If there was ever a time to throw everything but the kitchen sink at Democrats, now would be the election cycle to do it.
I wish my Republican brothers and sisters the best in their quest for CD-22.
Dream, fight, work and do your best to win.
