Summerfield, Fla. — Today, Steve Shives, candidate for House District 27, announced the endorsement of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida. A self-made businessman and staunch conservative, Steve launched his bid for the seat in May 2023 and is running to succeed Rep. Stan McClain, who is term-limited.
The Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida is a volunteer grassroots membership organization committed to advancing the ideologies of individual rights, limited government, and free markets within the Republican Party.
“On behalf of the State Board of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida, it is my pleasure to announce that Steve Shives has been endorsed in the 2024 race for Florida House District 27,” said Karyn Morton, Vice Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida. “After Steve’s interview, we were impressed with his networking in the district, plan of action for the campaign, natural inclination to fight for Constitutional issues, and commitment to winning this race.”

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of the Republican Liberty Caucus in this race for State Representative in House District 27,” said Steve Shives. “In the legislature, I will work hard to advance the commonsense principles that are at the heart of the Republican Party, including small government, free markets, and our personal freedoms. Each of these ideals plays a vital role in keeping our state the Free State of Florida we know and love. I look forward to fighting for what’s right in Tallahassee!”
Vice Chairman Morton added: “We look forward to working with Steve in the new Legislative year to help establish a Florida House Freedom Caucus and to secure a smaller, Constitutional government, free enterprise, and personal liberties for all Floridians. Our very best wishes for success!”
Steve has branded himself in the race for House District 27 as a regular guy with traditional values and common sense. In 2012, with a few hundred dollars and a shared heart for the community, Steve and his father-in-law, Robert Lane, started Runaway Campers. Since then, the company has grown from a backyard venture to a nationwide business, but Steve’s values have stayed the same. He has no ties to the political establishment in Tallahassee and is ready to take on the real issues facing Floridians in his district.
