Radical leftists, socialists, and Hamas apologists are planning to protest and disrupt Florida Atlantic University’s Presidential Forums. They aim to intimidate the FAU Board of Trustees out of selecting former Florida House Majority Leader Adam Hasner as FAU’s new President. What’s more, the Palm Beach County Democratic Party is helping to promote it.
Not only will this last-minute stunt not hurt Hasner, but it will help him.
The radical left fears Adam Hasner—because they’re afraid he will put an end to their student indoctrination and bring back free speech. They know that open debate and free expression are their kryptonite.
According to their own words, these groups don’t seem to like Jewish people very much; Adam Hasner is proudly Jewish. Will a state university in the backyard of one of Florida’s most prominent Jewish communities allow itself to be intimidated?

The Dream Defenders’ graphics depict Malcolm X, Angela Davis, the Black Panthers, etc. College students and their childish ideas may seem funny, but as we saw across the country in 2020 and in the aftermath of the 10/7 attacks, what they want to do is not funny.
Writing in the Sun-Sentinel partly about the safety of students at FAU, Joe Sabag says of Hasner:
No one is better equipped to keep FAU safe and thriving than Adam Hasner…
Ultimately, by enhancing FAU’s reputation as a safe harbor from antisemitism and pursuing the expansion of academic and research opportunities in partnership with leading Israeli institutions, it won’t be long before we see Hasner’s leadership draw a greater number of elite students away from Ivy League universities, attracting more philanthropic investment in the university’s endowment, and elevating the school’s ranking among leading universities. ~Joe Sabaq
If any of these fascistic “protestors” try to disrupt or shut down any FAU forum, they should be arrested and prosecuted.
As far as the Dream Defenders go, I hope they’re all legal because if they’re not, I’m sure some upstanding American citizen will notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement, aka ICE so that any illegal aliens can be arrested and deported.
The days of regular people being intimidated by radicals and haters are over. We, the people, have had enough. Times are changing in America, and that means we need new, bold leadership for our institutions that will never bend a knee to the mob.
Forget the lunatic left and the “progressive” Democrats politicizing the Presidency of FAU.
Adam Hasner is the right man for the job, and Florida Atlantic University’s Board of Trustees shouldn’t worry about them; the people of the Free State of Florida have their back on this one.
