No Bueno!: Crist Tries to Pander to Hispanics

Charlie Crist is once again pandering to Hispanic voters, and this time he’s focusing on flavor over substance.

Crist attempted to appeal to Hispanics in Florida by noting that he had ancestors from Greece and Lebanon, claiming this connected him to Hispanic Cuisine. “The spicy, Hispanic-type food is not unnatural to me at all,” he said.

This clip was featured on a recent segment of Tucker Carlson.

The original video cast doubt on Crist’s claim, predicting a brief google search that showed Greek food is typically known for being savory rather than spicy.

Multiple replies to the video agreed.

It doesn’t end there. The original video tweeted by DeSantis War Room also featured Crist attempting to speak Spanish and dancing to Spanish music, along with various examples of Hispanic pandering from the Biden administration. All of which sparked a similar negative reaction.

The pandering stunts come on the heels of Crist’s running mate Hernández-Mats comparing DeSantis to Cuban Communist dictator Fidel Castro and deleting her 2016 tweet mourning him. Cuban-Americans broke heavily for DeSantis in the last election, the Crist Campaigns’ recent strategy seems to be aiming at changing that in 2022.
