Nikki Haley to Launch $10M Ad Campaign Against DeSantis
Presidential candidate Nikki Haley is reportedly planning to drop $10 million on a new advertising blitz aimed at toppling Governor Ron DeSantis. Only two months remain before the GOP primary caucuses kick off in Iowa and New Hampshire, and as time runs out, the candidates are ramping up their attacks.
Haley’s multi-million dollar ad campaign is expected to launch next month and will include a media sweep of television, radio, and digital space in the two battleground states. While Haley and DeSantis are trailing former President Donald Trump in national polling, both candidates have asserted they have a path to victory in the early primary states.
The buy will be Haley’s first significant advertising reservation throughout the 2024 GOP primary.

In a statement announcing the new ad blitz, Haley’s campaign manager said her victory was “clear, and accused DeSantis of lacking the funds to stay competitive.
“Nikki Haley’s momentum and path to victory are clear,” said Betsy Ankney. “The same can’t be said for Ron DeSantis, who, even with a decent showing in Iowa, can’t afford a cup of coffee at the Red Arrow Diner in [Manchester] New Hampshire and is a mere tourist in South Carolina.”
DeSantis Communications Director Andrew Romeo later fired back, arguing in a statement that Haley “has no mathematical pathway to victory” in the Hawkeye State.
“No amount of money will be enough for Nikki Haley to conceal her pro-China, pro-Gaza aid, pro-gas tax, and pro-Hillary record,” said Romeo. “As Americans look behind the curtain, they will see she does not have the extensive record of conservative achievements that Ron DeSantis boasts. It’s clear there is no way Nikki Haley can beat Donald Trump, and every dollar spent on her candidacy is an in-kind to the Trump Campaign. Ron DeSantis has the best combination of endorsements, ground game, and message in the early states, which is why the former president continues to attack only him. We are confident the Iowa voters will see who will best represent them and their values.”

While Haley’s campaign maintains that she will be the eventual nominee, her efforts appear more focused on securing second place rather than challenging frontrunner Donald Trump.
In August, Republican consultant Rob Pyers reported that DeSantis had been the target of more than $20 million in negative ad expenditures throughout the 2024 primary cycle–more than any other candidate, including Trump and President Joe Biden, combined.
Meanwhile, the DeSantis campaign plans to launch a $2 million ad campaign of its own in Iowa as the campaign shifts its focus to winning the Hawkeye State. A third of the campaign’s personnel were also relocated to temporary housing in the state ahead of a final push, according to a report by the New York Times.
DeSantis has continued to tour the state, planning on visiting all 99 counties before the caucuses begin on January 15.
