New TV Ad Calls for ‘Winner’ DeSantis to Succeed Trump – ‘I’m Not Backing Down’
Pro-DeSantis PAC “Never Back Down” is premiering a new TV ad in several key primary states, casting the Florida Governor as the natural successor to Donald Trump. Set to triumphant imagery celebrating the DeSantis campaign’s multiple wins, the video includes snippets of the Governor’s second inaugural address and shots of news headlines presenting him as “DeFuture” of the country. The minute-long video titled “Winner” will debut on Monday in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada, as well as nationally on cable.
“When the world lost its mind. When common sense suddenly became an uncommon virtue, Florida was a citadel of freedom for our fellow Americans,” DeSantis can be heard saying in the ad, extolling Florida as the “Blueprint of Freedom.” The video incorporates lengthy shots of supporters cheering on the address in person and shaking hands with the Florida Governor.
“Our rights are not granted by the courtesy of the state but are endowed by the hand of the Almighty. We will never surrender to the woke mob. Florida is where woke goes to die.”

We insist on the restoration of time tested constitutional principles so that government of by and for the people shall not perish from this earth. We, the people are not destined for failure. I don’t care what corporate media outlets say. I don’t care what Hollywood says. I don’t care what big corporations say.
“Never Back Down” launched in March and is headed by former Trump White House senior official Ken Cuccinelli. “Ron DeSantis is the FUTURE, and he will NEVER BACK DOWN,” the group declares on its website. “We call on Governor DeSantis to run for President in 2024.”

The PAC’s most recent ad buy appears to be a direct answer to the Trump Campaign, who released a video of their own urging DeSantis to stay out of the primary this week. At one point in Never Back Down’s ad, the camera pans over three framed newspaper headlines–the first one on the left celebrating Trump’s 2016 victory and the other two praising DeSantis. The camera shifts to obscure the Trump cover, centering on DeSantis, including the Naples Daily News headline “DeSantis does it.”
In a final shot of the video, a voter can be seen placing a “DeSantis for President” bumper sticker on his car, covering up a worn “Trump 2016” sticker.
“Decline is a choice and freedom is worth fighting for. We will stand firm in the faith. We will be courageous. Here, I stand,” DeSantis concludes in the video. “I’m not backing down.”
