NBC Denies Reality After Gallup Finds 70% Oppose Men in Women’s Sports

A recent Gallup poll shows Americans overwhelmingly rejecting transgender ideology, and so-called journalists are working overtime to try and spin the findings. According to the survey, public support for trans issues has dramatically declined over the past two years, with nearly 7 out of 10 Americans now saying that men should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports.

According to the survey, 69 percent of Americans say transgenders should only be allowed to compete on teams that match their biological sex, compared to 62 percent in 2021. The share of Americans that believe trans athletes should be able to compete on teams that match their “gender identity” also declined from 34 to 26 percent. Public opinion has swung overall by 15 points in the past two years.

The Gallup survey also found that 55 percent of Americans now find it “morally wrong” to try and change one’s gender.

In a Democracy, nearly 70 percent of the population agreeing on an issue should make for a slam dunk. But the Left has made it abundantly clear that their endless sloganeering about “our Democracy” only selectively applies. If you are a Democrat mouthpiece at NBC, you write a report discrediting that 70 percent as “far-right,” which writer Matt Lavietes did.

“Gallup’s findings come amid an unprecedented number of anti-LGBTQ bills, 491, introduced by conservative lawmakers in state legislatures across the country, according to the American Civil Liberties Union, with the majority of the legislation affecting trans-Americans,” Lavietes writes. “Critics say that the measures are discriminatory and pose a particular risk to trans youths.”

After portraying the Republican legislation as dangerous, NBC brought in a Harvard expert and trans activist to try and discredit the majority view.

“‘The attacks on trans people have been very acute and vicious,’ Alejandra Caraballo, a trans activist and clinical instructor at Harvard Law School’s Cyberlaw Clinic, said. ‘It’s basically been the only thing that the far-right talks about so it’s not surprising that, in light of all of these concentrated attacks against trans people, that support has started to dip.’” ~ NBC News

Lavietes’s report was published under the “NBC Out” digital portal–NBC’s LGBTQ-centric news site.

While Gallup’s survey was initially published in June, NBC reposted their story on Friday, sparking blowback on Twitter.

‘American Mind’ editor-at-large Matthew J. Peterson weighed in, “Odd how in our sacred democracy, on issue after issue, the will of the vast majority of people doesn’t seem to be reflected in our laws and institutions.”

The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway wrote,

“People are not ‘assigned’ their sex at birth. Sex is able to be OBSERVED at birth — and for many months prior. This is dangerously false rhetoric. Just say ‘their sex’ not ‘the sex they were …’ gobbledygook. Factually correct. Less confusing. More efficient! Win, win, win.”

“It’s completely Orwellian to use the trans framing here. Sex is NOT ‘assigned at birth.’ It’s observed because it’s a biological fact,” another commenter added.

“This is because most people still live in reality, where men and women are different,” said Seth Dillon of the Babylon Bee. “It will take more than shouting ‘bigot’ at everyone to continue advancing this agenda. They’ll have to do it by force.”
