Mouth-Watering Irresistible Recipes for Grills and Smokers

Whether you’re spending the last days of summer grilling out with family and friends or catching some rays, I’ve got the perfect recipes from one of my favorite chefs, Chef Billy Parisi.

Chef Parisi is currently living in a suburb of Chicago and does most of his cooking from his newly created kitchen studio. Growing up in an Italian family means cooking is in his blood. Parisi has created the ultimate online community for home chefs. His relaxed, easy-to-follow style has garnered 100’s of thousands of followers on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and his website.

The University of Missouri, where Parisi attended college, recently featured him in their online alumni magazine, “Show Me Mizzou.”

The Main Event Recipes

While some of these recipes are something you should plan for and take quite a bit of time to cook/smoke, they’re still worth mentioning and something you can bookmark and save for another day. You won’t be sorry!

I’ve made each of the below recipes, and yes, there were some fails, but ultimately after some trials and Chef Parisi’s thorough videos, success and some great meals have been enjoyed.

Smoke Pull Pork Shoulder Recipe

This one warrants to be listed first in the list! This smoked pulled pork will have you being the Big Dog of BBQ. Even though it takes 10-11 hours to prepare this delicacy, the resulting flavor will have your guests filling up in seconds!

Parisi not only tells you how to select the perfect pork shoulder but step-by-step preparation, cooking times, serving, and storage of those leftovers.

Grilled Swordfish Recipe (Sicilian Style)

I could eat swordfish every day! When my husband and I are entertaining, if we have a guest that tells us they don’t like seafood, I make swordfish and ask them to try it. Generally, I always end up with a person who converts to never saying, “I don’t eat seafood,” again.

Jamaican Jerk Chicken Recipe

Chicken is a staple at most backyard barbeques. This Jamaican Jerk recipe is punched with flavor. Pairing this backyard bite with a nice citrus-flavored beer like a Blue Moon or a light local like Funky Buddha’s Floridian beer is quite satisfying.

Smoked Chicken BBQ

Mmmm…this mouthwatering BBQ chicken reminds me of Freddy’s BBQ Joint, owned by Freddy Hayes in the show House of Cards. (Why do actors have to go messing up a good thing?)

Tastier Sidedishes

A perfect backyard barbeque isn’t complete without some great side dishes. Make any combination or all of these recipes at your next event, and you’re sure to be the king (or queen) of the grill!

Vinegar-Based Coleslaw Recipe

This recipe is a must-have. For someone who doesn’t like mayonnaise or salad dressing, this is a great alternative to mayonnaise-based coleslaw. I’ve made this so many times that I have memorized the recipe. I not only make this for pairing with barbequed meals, but in our house, we use it for fish tacos and as the perfect side dish for other meals.

Watermelon is THE ultimate summer fruit! What a better way to celebrate the hazy end of summer days with this delightfully refreshing salad! Grilled watermelon? Yes! I’m here for it! Did you know grilling fruit intensifies the flavor?

Spending time outdoors with family and friends is essential to enjoy what life offers.

We at Florida Jolt hope your summer has been safe, happy, and filled with joy.
