The battle to elect a Republican Speaker of the House went from chaos to farce when after Kevin McCarthy lost his seventh vote to become speaker, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz voted for former President Trump to become speaker.

President Trump endorsed McCarthy for speaker yesterday morning on his Truth social media site, making Gaetz’s vote for Trump seem like nonsensical grandstanding.

House Adjourns After McCarthy Loses Sixth Vote, Gaetz won’t budge
Gaetz’s Trump vote got great reviews on Twitter from the usual crowd of Trump acolytes; although it’s doubtful, most Trump supporters support the Gaetz vote since Trump has not rescinded his endorsement of McCarthy.

Many Republicans are losing patience with the anti-McCarthy group, as Sean Hannity demonstrated in his interview last night with Lauren Boebert. in the interview, Boebert also suggested voting for Trump.
