The Florida Highway Patrol’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Intelligence began investigating the incident Friday. Troopers noted his hand and arm tattoos in the arrest report and his Instagram account, where he posted the video. They stated they were able to track Perez-Valdivia down from videos he posted earlier in the night of him partying in downtown Miami and singing in the car with another man. Investigators were able to match his tattoos to those seen in the video.
Shockingly, Perez-Valdivia allegedly committed this crime while out on bond for a previous charge of improper exhibition of a firearm.
Perez-Valdivia arrived at the Dade County Jail, where he made arrangements to turn himself in early Monday. Florida Highway Patrol Troopers booked him into the main Miami-Dade correctional center.
The Florida Highway Patrol charged him with 14 counts of discharging a firearm from a vehicle, carrying a concealed firearm, improper exhibition of a weapon, and resisting an officer without violence. He is currently being held without bond.
Under Florida Statute, Perez-Valdivia could receive a $10,000 fine and 15 years in jail for each of the 14 counts of firing from a vehicle.
