The housekeeper arrived at the home on 16th Street Northeast in Golden Gate Estates and found Corrado covered in blood and the dead woman’s body in a bedroom inside the house. She told Corrado she would get cleaning supplies but drove away and notified a Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

Deputies immediately responded to the residence, where they located the deceased female. They found the male victim in another room, wrapped in a blanket with severe trauma to his head. He was flown by a medical helicopter to a trauma center. His current condition is unknown.

A hammer with blood on it was located on a kitchen countertop. Blood was on the walls and floors inside the residence.

Deputies located Corrado standing outside the residence with blood on his clothing, and he was taken into custody.

The female victim was identified as Mary Schiavone, and the male victim was identified as Tony Schiavone.

“This individual is in our custody thanks to the swift response by deputies and the quick-thinking reporter who was able to get herself out of the residence and alert law enforcement,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said.

Deputies said Mary Schiavone had taken out an order of protection against her grandson in 2018 due to domestic violence.
