Lone Impregnated Stingray Turns Out Not To Be Pregnant

In 2024, Florida Jolt reported a story about a lone aquarium stingray that magically got pregnant. Democrats and third-wave feminists seemed to bask in the possibility that men might no longer be needed to procreate, but it turns out that Charlotte has a rare reproductive disease and may never have been pregnant.

The aquarium stingray was thought to be pregnant despite being the only stingray in the tank. The idea of spontaneous reproduction would have meant that women might not need men to procreate. Turns out, the stingray was never really pregnant. Men can now sleep at night, knowing they’re still required.

From Fl Jolt’s article, Who’s Your Daddy? – Aquarium Stingray Pregnant With No Male in Sight;

Third-wave feminists and Democrats have long claimed that women don’t need men to survive, and it turns out that they may be on to something. According to NBC, a female stingray named Charlotte is pregnant at a North Carolina aquarium. No male stingrays are in the tank, leaving all to wonder, how did this happen? Was it a lonely aquarium staffer? Was it magic? Did a mad scientist inject DNA into the stingray to see what would happen, just like in the old, oddly compelling movie, “Splice?” The answer could be much more exciting but no less twisted.

The theories about the pregnancy ranged from a possible self-cloning, to possibly mating with a male shark, to DNA injection from another species, just as they’ve shown in some sci-fi movies, to the possibility of a lonely aquarium suffering. It turns out that none of these theories were correct.

According to the NY Post,

A biologist specializing in stingrays said that the celebrity tidiest of the Aquarium and Shark Lab in Hendersonville, NC, may have suffered from a “false pregnancy”-style sickness caused by living in captivity.

As interesting as the possibility of a self-impregnating stingray seemed, it turns out that it wasn’t to be. The story’s moral is that animals like this aren’t meant to be alone and should remain free in the wild.
