Liberals online were horrified by seeing patriots standing for the US national anthem in a small Californian restaurant. The poster said it was “the most dangerous situation I’ve ever been in.” The poster included hashtags of “godblessamerica,” “getout,” “illegal,” and “whitepeoplethings.”
A now-viral video of the event was posted to TikTok and received more than 17,000 comments saying the American tradition was “dystopian,” “dangerous,” and “like a horror movie.”
Despite some commenters defending the practice, the post was laden with online masses calling the spectacle scary, with one even saying they were “sorry” that the TikTok user, who uses “#illegal” in her post, had to be there.

A commenter on the post said, “I would’ve started crying… not out of joy, but out of fear.” A patriot quickly responded,
“They do this in honor of victims of 9/11. they do this every day to bring people together. only the woke mob would hate this.”
The restaurant, located in a smaller town of about 30,000, is well-known for its patriotic attitude and traditional playing of the national anthem at noon. Several users said that another restaurant that played the national anthem, MissionBBQ, was another place they would “never go back.”
One commenter who claimed to be from Austria compared the innocent practice to a Hitler rally, saying.
“im from Austria, and we also did this…..once…like 80 years ago. just saying.”
Others could only think of movie references, saying that the sudden standing for the national anthem was “literally the hunger games.”
Across the internet, Americans and Non-Americans indulged in criticism of the patriots. Users blasted those standing as “sheeple,” “mindless dummies,” “cultists,” and a plethora of other dishonest and nasty names.

Funnily enough, the liberals who criticized the practice as “cultish” were themselves cultishly repeating the same “response” to the situation and the same criticisms of the people. Those who dissented from the leftist “cult” narrative were ignored or received laughing emojis.

The restaurant’s owner, Jeanene Paulino, responded to criticism in a Fox News interview, saying.
“I feel like, if we take a few minutes out of our day to be grateful for the men and women who have made the sacrifices so that we can stand up and say how we feel and she said how she felt. And I wish she realized that it’s because those men and women who made those sacrifices that she was able to do that.”
Paulino further made it clear that the pressure from the radical left meant nothing. “I come from a long line of patriots, so I was thrilled to keep the tradition going,” she remarked, “so no, we won’t be stopping.”
