Jolt Media Scorches Dems Crying About Greenland

President Trump’s hardball diplomacy over Greenland had Democratic Senator Mark Warner panicking. When Florida Jolt President Jack Furnari questioned America’s relationship with its so-called allies, the response was immediate, emotional, and — judging by the replies — not especially interested in facts.

The exchange started when Mark Warner posted:

“Unbelievable. Troops from France, Germany, the UK, Norway, and Sweden are arriving in Greenland right now. Trump has turned our allies against us.”

Jack replied bluntly:

“They’re not our allies. They’re our dependents, and they’re counting on traitors like you to backstab America.”

Within minutes, critics from Europe and the American left piled on, accusing Jack of ignorance, isolationism, and even parroting Russian propaganda. The insults came fast. The facts, not so much.

Let’s start with the part everyone pretended not to understand. Jack’s underlying point isn’t radical — or even controversial.

The United States pays the lion’s share of NATO’s military bills. That’s not a talking point; it’s math. For years, the U.S. has accounted for roughly two-thirds of total NATO defense spending, while many European countries failed to meet the alliance’s own spending commitments.

This isn’t some fringe claim. NATO leaders have publicly complained about it. So have American presidents from both parties.
Yet, judging by the replies, this fundamental reality came as a shock to many furious people on the internet.

“Those bases are for YOU, not us!” — the internet

Yes. And?

American bases overseas are about power projection, deterrence, and global reach. They also provide a massive security blanket Europe has relied on for decades, freeing many countries to spend less on their own defense. When someone else is handling the hard part, there’s very little incentive to learn how to play the game of Risk.

And then came the meltdown.

Judging by these replies — and dozens like them — the word “dependents” detonated a nerve. Critics from across Europe rushed to insist they were absolutely not dependent, while angrily demanding to be treated as equals.

One user, Chien Taureau, assured Americans he “liked” the country — right before calling Americans “obese morons.” Others offered variations of how dare you, we don’t need you, and please stop saying that, often in the same breath.

Here’s the inconvenient part: these tantrums don’t change. Europe isn’t helpless, but it has been strategically reliant on American military power for decades. That reliance wasn’t forced. It was chosen. European governments underfunded defense, reduced readiness, and built social-spending models around the assumption that the U.S. would always handle the hard part.

Having a military isn’t the same thing as being able — or willing — to sustain large-scale deterrence without American leadership, logistics, intelligence, and money. That gap doesn’t disappear just because people on the internet don’t like being reminded of it.

American military and economic hegemony are what keep Europe safe and prosperous today. The Marshall Plan is what rebuilt Europe after the destruction of World War II. All of those comforts flow from the American taxpayer and the young Americans on military bases and aircraft carriers around the world.

And let’s be honest — nothing says “we’re not dependent” quite like losing your mind the moment someone suggests you might be.

Allies don’t melt down like this. Dependents do.

Tweets won’t break NATO. However, the illusion that Europe is a co-equal partner with America that pulls its own weight is fading fast. And judging by the reaction, that illusion meant a lot to people who aren’t paying most of the bill.
