I’ll Do it Myself: Trump Accuses Biden Admin. of Betraying East Palestine, Brings Supplies Himself
Former President Donald Trump visited East Palestine, Ohio, on Wednesday in the wake of a trail derailment spilling toxin chemicals in the area. Trump brought water and other supplies while accusing the Biden administration of “indifference and betrayal.”
Cleanup efforts have been ongoing since a Norfolk Southern train derailed on Feb. 3, spilling chemicals into the ground. Just days later, officials decided to create a controlled release of vinyl chloride, one of the worse carcinogens known to man, by blowing the train up. Officials claim the water is safe to drink in the area, but the locals are concerned. Since the accident, residents have reported enduring headaches and skin rashes. There have been reports of dead fish in the area.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and President Joe Biden failed to appear in person as of the time of writing, but former President Donald Trump took the opportunity to make the visit.
Trump visited the scene on Wednesday, bringing cleaning supplies and canned food. Trump also stopped at a local Mcdonald’s, buying Big Macs for first responders and team members, and handed out signed MAGA hats.
Trump also brought pallets of bottled water, mostly his brand, and some “lesser quality” water.
I do want to especially thank some of the incredible people that helped us because we’re bringing thousands of bottle[s] of water. Trump water, actually, most of it. Uh, some of it we had to go to a much lesser quality water. You want to get those Trump bottles, I think more than anybody else.
But we’re bringing a lot of water – thousands of bottles and we have it in trucks and we brought some on my plane today. But to that end, I’m pleased to announce that we’ve helped coordinate the delivery of the water and bottled water, as well as the tractor-trailers full of it. We have big tractor-trailers full of water. I think you’re gonna have plenty of water for a long time maybe.
During his remarks, Trump shredded the Biden Administration for handling the situation.

“Unfortunately, as you know, in too many cases your goodness and perseverance were met with indifference and betrayal in some cases. And Biden and FEMA said they would not send aid to East Palestine under any circumstance.”
Trump also took some credit for recent signals from the administration of more involvement in the future, claiming that he “opened up the dam and we got them to move.”
“When I announced that I was coming, they changed their tune. It was an amazing phenomenon,”
To Trump’s point, Pete Buttigieg has confirmed he’ll visit on-site on Thursday.
The crowd showed their support, chanting Trump’s name and saying, “no more Joe.”
Trump and Ohio Senator JD Vance have led the backlash against the Biden Administration’s handling of the issue. Trump even promised to visit again if necessary.
