‘I Asked God to Show Me What to Do’ – Mom Chooses Life, Cancels Abortion Last-Minute
While Florida’s six-week ‘heartbeat’ abortion ban has created controversy and generated lawsuits, Twitter users are sharing personal stories of why they support the pro-life movement. Several people re-shared the story of one woman who changed her mind and chose life just minutes away from the procedure, and it has readers moved to tears.
Twitter user and Chicagoan Nancy Jo says it was nearly 30 years ago that she decided to get an abortion. “I didn’t want to,” she wrote, before adding that “fear lied” to her and convinced her to go ahead with scheduling the abortion.
“I was sitting in my surgical gown in the waiting room and asked God to show me what to do. I asked him to help me. I was then escorted back to the procedure room.”

(1) 28 years ago I went to get an abortion. I didn’t want to, but fear lied to me and I believed it. I was sitting in my surgical gown in the waiting room and asked God to show me what to do. I asked him to help me. I was then escorted back to the procedure room.

But when Nancy Jo was brought to the procedure room, she says she was overwhelmed with emotion.
“I stood in the doorway crying,” she said.
“God moved in the heart of the manager and she said to me ‘I don’t think you are ready for this’. I agreed, got dressed and walked out. Only to encounter pro-lifers out on either side of the sidewalk.”
The pro-lifers were kneeling on both sides of the sidewalk, praying for the life of Nancy Jo’s unborn child. She said she walked about halfway down the sidewalk, then looked up to meet the faces of the pro-lifers. “I didn’t do it,” she said.
“They ERUPTED into praise to the Lord for answering their prayers. I’ve always wanted to thank them. So if you are reading this, and you were there (Chicago), THANK YOU.”
