Dralin Carswell, 21, The boyfriend of reality TV star Alana Thompson, 17, aka Honey Boo Boo, of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” was arrested for DUI and fleeing from the police. At the same time, Thompson was a passenger in the vehicle.

On Tuesday at around 4:30 p.m., Thompson was riding in a car with her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, and another man Julian Malik Divon Williams, when Monroe County Georgia Corporal Jaleel Brown attempted a traffic stop on Carswell’s Dodge Charger.
Corporal Brown ran the tag on the vehicle, which was located on Highway 42 at the shell station, and teletype advised that the owner of the car had outstanding warrants.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Spokesman Lt. John Thompson says deputy Brown attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Dralin. Still, instead of pulling over, Dralin led the deputy on a chase for about 3 miles. Deputies finally ended the pursuit with a pit maneuver, spinning the car out and disabling it on Highway 42 and Hickman Road.
Carswell was secured and then arrested and charged with five misdemeanors, including fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving under the influence of drugs, following a vehicle too closely, failing to maintain lane, speeding, and so on as outstanding warrants out of Wilkinson County, Georgia. Another passenger, Julian Malik Divon Williams, was also arrested for outstanding warrants. Carswell spent two days in jail on a bond of $25,000.

Thompson has been dating Carswell, who’s five years her senior, for over two years. When Entertainment Tonight spoke with Thompson in July, she addressed public criticism of her relationship.
“In our relationship, the two things that everybody is always talking about is our age gap and definitely because he’s Black and I’m white, and we’re an interracial couple,” she said. “I don’t care because, at the end of the day, my sister approves, his mom approves, and we’re happy, so what fans got to say or what haters got to say, I don’t care,” “I like how it’s never quiet when we’re around each other, we’re always talking about something — it’s never an awkward moment, silence or none of that. We’re always just talking about something.”
Monroe County Lt. John Thompson said Honey Boo Boo was not charged and is only a witness.

According to Thompson, Alana reportedly wasn’t taken into custody or charged and is only a witness. Honey Boo Boo was later picked up by her sister, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, who was granted sole custody in April 2022.
