Hollywood Star Rob Schneider Praises DeSantis, Made Americans “More Free”
“Grown Ups” star Rob Schneider is known by most of the country for his leading roles in comedy movies, but he has started to make a foray into politics.
Schneider has made his conservative sympathies clear. In August of 2022, Schneider went on an interview with Glenn Beck where he openly declared his beliefs, saying he was a supporter of former President Trump and that he “doesn’t care” about his career anymore and cares more about the future of the country.

Schneider switched to the Republican Party after being an Independent and finally a Republican, telling told Fox News that he “had it” with the Democrat Party.
“I don’t want the Democratic party trying to run my life, and there’s not one aspect of your life that they don’t want to interfere with, so I had it with them. So, I got out of California and moved to the slightly freer state of Arizona,” Schneider said.

Beyond being a supporter of Trump, Schneider also left a supportive message for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Twitter in response to the Governor’s New Years’ post.
“Happy New Year! I am thankful for the opportunity to continue serving the free state of Florida,” DeSantis said.

Schneider responded by thanking Desantis, saying that he has contributed to making all Americans “more free.”

Schneider, who recently released a movie that he both directed and starred in, said that he felt the political environment in Hollywood and California was stifling.
“You have to be [a Democrat] in San Francisco,” he continued.
Schneider further said “it’s really weird” that it’s now “controversial” to put “God and family and country first” and said at a “certain point you need to say enough of this and stand up to it.”

“It’s really weird. You know something’s wrong when people say if you put God and family and country first, that’s somehow controversial. How is that controversial? [….] I think at a certain point you need to say enough of this and stand up to it,” Schneider said.
For his part, DeSantis has consistently held Florida out as a model state for conservatives, using it as a point of pride that hundreds of thousands of people have voted with their feet and migrated to the state due to it’s policies.
“The survival of the American experiment requires a revival of true American principles,” DeSantis said. “Florida has proved that it can be done. We offer a ray of hope that better days still lie ahead.”
