Gaetz Calls for Indictment of FBI Agents -‘Disinformation and Election Interference Enterprise’

Florida Representative Matt Gaetz proposed that some FBI agents should be fired and prosecuted after the release of the Durham report, which revealed the Bureau should never have launched the probe into whether Donald Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election due to a lack of evidence.

Special Counsel John Durham, appointed by Attorney General Bill Barr in 2019, concluded his probe into the “Russiagate” investigation of Donald Trump during his 2016 campaign.

Durham concluded that the “Russiagate” investigation, officially known as Crossfire Hurricane, “failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law” and had “no actual evidence.”

 

“Based on the evidence gathered in the multiple exhaustive and costly federal investigations of these matters, including the instant investigation, neither U.S. law enforcement nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.”

“FBI records prepared by Strzok in February and March 2017 show at the time of opening Crossfire Hurricane, the FBI had no information in its holding indicating that at any time during the campaign, anyone in the Trump campaign had been in contact with any Russian intelligence officials,” the report went on.

In an interview with Newsmax, Matt Gaetz summarized and reacted to the report’s content and insisted that FBI agents be held accountable for their wrongdoing alongside the single lawyer that the report scapegoats.

 

‘This report is an insufficient consequence for the malfeasance and corruption that we have seen here. It was an operation from beginning to end to fuse political opposition research from the DNC and the Clinton campaign with this intelligence process and criminal process. And it’s a sad day in America. If that had been a Republican operation – an operation to help a Republican candidate – it wouldn’t have ended in a report: it would have ended with real significant indictments.”

 

Gaetz also emphasized the explicitly politically biased nature of the investigation.

“The FBI and the Department of justice were weaponized and Trump was specifically targeted. The report takes great lengths to point out number of times Trump was targeted in a way no other American would be. In essence, the FBI has become a disinformation and election interference enterprise in our country. It’s very damning for them, the Steel Dossier was nonsense, the probable cause standard to even originate an investigation was never met, and you had a secret court that was lied to”

When the Steele Dossier, the basis for starting the investigation, was first revealed, Trump dismissed it, saying a “group of opponents … put that crap together.” He was not far off. Even according to CNN’s retrospective, Hillary Clinton was exposed for manufacturing and paying for the Steele Dossiers earlier in the Durham probe.

 

Now the report is out, and the conspiracy has been revealed to go even higher. It alleges that not only did Clinton manufacture the basis for the investigation to link Trump to the Russian government in 2016 falsely, but the Obama White House was briefed on the plot. Yet, the FBI, which falls under the Executive Branch and the White House’s direct authority, still pressed ahead with the investigation anyway. Meaning either the Bureau knew the politically biased nature of the inquiry or the White House did not want it to know, and it moved forward with no explanation for the lack of evidence.

With the release of the Durham report, we are experiencing one of the most shocking political scandals in American history.
