Klotz was in a car on the number 1 train at around 1:15 a.m. Sunday morning, he was returning from watching a Giants playoff game at a tavern when he saw about eight punks harassing an older-looking gentleman.
“I was like, ‘Yo, guys, cut that out.’ And they decided, ‘All right if he’s not going to get it, you’re going to get it.’ And boy did they give it to me,” Klotz said. “They had me on the ground. My ribs are all bruised up, too. They got their hits in.”
After the cowards beat Klotz, they fled the train at the 18th Street station, but three of them were caught by the cops.
while the headline I just read, “viciously beaten by teens,” is true, it’s doing way more damage to my ego than the physical beating did

Police released the three after “Juvenile reports were prepared, and their parents were called to pick them up.”
If you think the justice system is a joke, look at the juvenile justice system.
An NYPD spokesman stated that the department did not have the option to arrest the punks because of their ages and because the crime was a misdemeanor.
In NYC, the victim has to file a complaint with the Department of Probation before it even gets involved. The Probation department would then decide whether to refer the case to the Law Department for prosecution.

But wait, there’s more. The 17-year-old suspect could have been charged as an adult before the state passed the “Raise the Age” law in 2019. The law raised the age for a teenager to be charged as an adult from 17 to 18.
Klotz was treated for his injuries at Bellevue Hospital and released.
