Fox News Shocker: Tucker Carlson Out, Stock Crashes

Fox News has announced that it has “agreed to part ways” with longtime host Tucker Carlson.

Carlson had appeared on Fox News for nearly a decade and was the network’s leading host with 3.5 million viewers at the time of his abrupt departure. The network made the shocking announcement Monday morning thanking Carlson for his work, and saying that his final show was on April 21.

FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.

Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.

The announcement was reportedly aired at 11:45 am Eastern Time by host Harris Faulkner, adding that the statement was “News from within our Fox family.”

Carlson’s show is expected to be taken over by a rotating cast of Fox hosts during the interim while a new show is selected to fill the lineup.

It is currently unclear why Carlson and the network have agreed to go separate ways, but the departure follows just days after Fox News agreed to settle a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems to the tune of nearly $800 million. It is also unclear how much time Carlson had remaining in his contract, or if Fox intends to pay their star host a severance.

Immediately following the announcement, Fox Corporation stock dove nearly 4 percent.

“Appears Fox stock is crashing after announcing Tucker Carlson’s show is over,” remarked Henry Rodger, Chief National Correspondent of Daily Caller. Carlson had founded the Caller in 2010, before selling his stake in 2020.

Conservative commentators were quick to add their thoughts on the shocking announcement and offered their support to Carlson.

“Tucker Carlson is an American Hero who through his tenure at Fox was able to break some of the biggest and most important stories,” said detransition activist Oli London.

“Tucker has been fearless in sharing the truth and never afraid to speak out against topics other networks wouldn’t cover. Sad to hear he has left Fox. It was a pleasure speaking to him last year”
