By a vote of 126-100, Christian Ziegler,39, won the election as Florida GOP Chair and will lead the Republican party into the second term of Governor Ron DeSantis and the 2024 Election season.
Ziegler won, and Leon County GOP Chair Evan Power came in second during voting at the Republican Party of Florida’s annual meeting in Orlando. In a sign of party unity, Evan Power was elected to the Vice Chair position.

Under the Gruters/Ziegler leadership, the GOP saw significant successes in the 2022 election in Florida, topped off by Gov. Ron DeSantis’ 19-point victory over Democrat Charlie Crist.
Ziegler, a Sarasota County State Committeeman, is the second GOP Chair from Sarasota as he succeeds Joe Gruters, who has led the Florida GOP since 2019. Zeigler has been a force in Florida politics for years, working for U.S. Rep Vern Buchanan, serving as a Sarasota County Commissioner, and four years as RPOF Vice Chair.

He recently completed a term as Sarasota County Commissioner and did not seek re-election. Ziegler’s firm, Microtargeted Media, provides digital media and public affairs services for national political campaigns, assisting the GOP in its mission.

Zeigler is married to Bridget Ziegler, who chairs the Sarasota County School Board and won a second term in office last year. She was one of the co-founders of the group Moms for Liberty, the conservative parental rights organization.
Ziegler had endorsements from GOP Representatives Vern Buchanan, Kat Cammack, Byron Donald, Anna Paulina Luna, Cory Mills, Greg Steube, and Michael Waltz, as well as influencers such as Rogan O’Handley, aka D.C. Draino.

Ziegler was elected to a two-year term and is taking over a party that has been incredibly successful with an explosion in Republican party voter registration.
