Florida Woman Shoots and Kills Parrot During Drunken Domestic Dispute

Florida woman Suzanne Mulalley, 61, of Largo, took a ride to the Pinellas County Jail along with her husband, and both were charged with Domestic Violence battery. Suzanne was also accused of shooting her African Grey parrot during a drunken fight with her husband.

Largo Police responded to the Largo residence about a domestic battery, and according to the arrest affidavit, Suzanne Mulalley and her 66-year-old husband, Steven, were both “intoxicated.”

Police said Suzanne and her husband were drunk when Suzanne shot and killed the parrot using a .380 Glock inside their home.

Mulalley “shot and killed [her] African grey bird using a .380 Glock inside their home,” the responding officer wrote in a police report.

“Both victim and defendant walked outside and pushed other,” the arrest affidavit said, detailing how the accused parrot killer also sprayed her husband with water.

Records show that her husband was also charged with domestic battery after a witness saw him pushing his wife.

Both Suzanne and Steven denied committing the crime of battery on one another, according to the affidavit.

Suzanne, however, did not appear to face charges for allegedly killing the parrot. However, the affidavit showed that a stipulation for her release was “no contact [with] animals” or firearms, and her Glock .380 was placed into evidence for possible charges of Animal Cruelty.

In February, an affidavit shows that Suzanne was charged with resisting an officer after officers responded to her Largo home for reports of a firearm being discharged in the backyard during an argument.

Officers reported “numerous loaded firearms in plain view inside the residence.” The charge, in that case, was dropped last month.
