Daniel Gilbert Franklin, 56, of Lynn Haven (Panama City) in Bay County, has been arrested for allegedly installing a hidden camera in his bathroom and making secret recordings of a teenage girl showering and changing at his home.
According to the Lynn Haven police, the 14-year-old victim recently discovered the hidden camera, took a photograph, and reported it to her parents, who in turn went to the police. Lynn Haven then initiated the Video Voyeurism with a minor case.

Lynn Haven Police say 56-year-old Daniel Gilbert Franklin was accused of hiding a digital video camera in a bathroom in his home to secretly record a 14-year-old girl who was a frequent guest in the house. Investigators say the recording showed the girl disrobing, showering, and changing her clothes.
Franklin was a part-time volunteer coach at North Bay Haven High School. But now. according to North Bay Haven chief education officer Larry Bolinger, Franklin is no longer a volunteer coach at the school. He noted the incident did not occur on the school grounds or during the school day.
“We were briefed on the situation regarding the volunteer coach early Monday morning,” Bolinger said. “We immediately reported it to the Department of Children and Family Services and law enforcement.”
Franklin did pass a background check, as all Bay County charter school volunteers must pass the same background check that volunteers and staff undergo before working at a school. If no criminal charges are found, the volunteer can come onto campus and interact with students.
After being taken into custody, Franklin allegedly admitted to police investigators that he did hide the digital camera and had similar recordings of the same victim showering, disrobing, and changing clothes on multiple occasions in his home.

“Franklin gave investigators consent to search his home and several digital video cameras, computers, electronic storage devices, and cell phones were seized as evidence,” the LHPD wrote. “The investigation is ongoing, and a forensic analysis of these electronic devices is being conducted. Additional charges are possible based on the analysis of this evidence.
Franklin was transported to the Bay County jail and faces second-degree felony charges of video voyeurism. He also reportedly served as a volunteer track coach at a local high school.
