Florida Republicans Cheer SCOTUS Ruling to Reinstate Trump

Former President Donald Trump has taken home yet another victory after the U.S. Supreme Court decided unanimously to reinstate him on the presidential ballot. Despite efforts by Democrat officials in Colorado, Maine, and Illinois to disqualify the former President, the Court delivered a 9-0 verdict Monday morning declaring that Trump could not be removed from the ballot. The ruling prompted celebration among Florida Republicans, who hailed it as a “major win” for freedom and election integrity.

“It will go a long way toward bringing our country together, which our country needs,” Trump said in an address to his supporters at Mar-a-Lago. He described the unanimous ruling as a “unifying” moment for the country.

“[the Court] worked very quickly on something that will be spoke about 100 years from now and 200 years from now. Extremely important. Essentially, you cannot take somebody out of a race because an opponent would like to have it that way. And it has nothing to do with the fact that it’s the leading candidate, whether it was the leading candidate or a candidate that was well down on the totem pole, you cannot take somebody out of a race.”

Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz posted to X that the decision was a “major win against the attempts of election interference by lawfare against Republicans.”

“Activist judges in Colorado and other liberal states believe that the American people should not have the right to vote for the presidential candidate of their choice… This morning, the Supreme Court UNANIMOUSLY REJECTED their attempt to stop Donald J. Trump from running for President!” ~ Rep. Matt Gaetz on X

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna wrote on X, “The Colorado court’s political games just got blasted by SCOTUS, unanimously overturning their attempt to kick President Trump off the ballot. It’s a huge slap in the face to those trying to rig the system. We need FAIR and CLEAN elections.”

“The Supreme Court UNANIMOUSLY agrees, Colorado’s Supreme Court had no authority to remove [Donald Trump] from the ballot,” said Congressman Daniel Webster. “It is the American people who decide who is President, no liberal activists.”

In an interview with Newsmax, Rep. Byron Donalds called the 9-0 ruling a “monumental decision” but said the need for such a ruling was “tragic.”

“What we’re dealing with is elements in the Democrat Party who are very, very radical,” Donalds said during a taping of ‘The American Agenda.’ “They don’t have the country’s best interest at heart. And the wonderful thing is that the Supreme Court was unanimous.”

“This is a wonderful decision for America, a landmark decision for America and, hopefully, it’s a signal to those radical elements in the Democrat Party who are using the legal system for political ends. They should stop right now. The country does not deserve that. Let the people decide who’s going to be the 47th president of the United States.”

The Supreme Court’s decision comes on the eve of Super Tuesday, wherein fifteen states–including Colorado–will hold primary votes to nominate the Republican Presidential candidate. Trump is expected to sweep the results. According to RealClearPolitics, he currently maintains a 64-point polling lead over opponent Nikki Haley.
