St. Cloud police officer Dianne Ferreira, 25, was arrested for stealing and using the credit card information of a dead man, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO).
On April 3, St. Cloud Police responded to a home after a 911 caller complained of difficulty breathing. When law enforcement arrived at the house, they found the man dead.

On April 14, the man’s wife contacted the St. Cloud Police Department (SCPD) after seeing suspicious charges on her spouse’s credit cards that began the day after he died.

The charges included seven mobile fuel purchases, a mobile food order at Wendy’s restaurant, and a charge for a hotel room.
Deputies said two other charges were attempted after the card was canceled for another fuel charge and a charge at a business specializing in eyelash extensions.
Authorities began an investigation and were able to identify the make and model of the suspect’s vehicle and a description of the driver. During their investigation, detectives learned Ferreira owned the car and matched the suspect’s description.
During an interview, Ferreira told detectives she loaded the credit cards into mobile apps on her cell phone and then used them for personal expenses.

Ferreira began working for SCPD in 2022 after prior employment at the county jail.
Officials said she had no prior disciplinary actions during her employment with SCPD.
“I offer my sincerest apologies to the victim of these acts,” Police Chief Douglas Goerke said in a statement. “This Department and its staff are held to the highest standards and expectations by the residents of this City, and keeping the community’s trust is paramount.”
Ferreira admitted to taking photos of the person’s credit card while responding to a medical emergency call. She has since been relieved of her duties as a patrol officer and was arrested on charges of criminal use of personal identification information of the deceased, fraudulent use of credit card, and theft by taking or retaining possession of the card, OCSO said in a news release.
