After killing the woman, Williams told investigators she ran away to avoid being captured, but then she surrendered when she realized she couldn’t escape.

Deputies found Williams hiding in a drainage canal, wearing only green underwear, in a drainage canal close to the crime scene.

According to the arrest report, the strange behavior began on Friday and culminated in the murder on Sunday Morning.

On Friday, Williams called her neighbor/landlord at 3 a.m. and asked him to visit her unit. Williams told him she was “seeing things” and was having a panic attack. The landlord found her trembling moments later, saying, “They’re trying to kill me. I don’t know why those people are trying to kill me.” The neighbor told her everything was OK, and he went back home.

On Saturday, the sheriff’s office said an acquaintance of Williams called the neighbor and asked him to check on her because she was acting strange the night before. But Williams wouldn’t come to the door.

On Sunday morning, investigators said Williams’ father called the neighbor to check on her again. The neighbor’s wife saw Williams topless and rolling around in the dirt in the backyard. The neighbor and his wife tried to get Williams to put her clothes back on. Instead, she jumped the fence and ran off.

911 got the call at 9:12 a.m. Sunday. Reference a suspicious incident involving a naked woman (Williams) climbing a tree.

Williams’s father called back, asking the neighbor to check the house. The neighbor pushed open the apartment’s partially open door and saw a female on the floor with a black cord around her neck.

When deputies arrived, they pulled Williams from the canal and transported her to the hospital to be medically cleared. She was then taken for questioning late Sunday afternoon.
