Florida Man Wanted War With Putnam County Deputies
Florida Man Glen Ressler, 42, of Interlachen was looking to “start a war” and engage Putnam County Deputies in an active shooter situation.
It seems that Ressler was upset with Putnam Deputies because they dared to take away his driver’s license during an earlier traffic stop just because it was suspended. Pro tip Glen, by Florida law, you are not allowed to be in possession of a driver’s license if it’s suspended. Glen decided that instead of doing what needs to be done to get his license back, it would be a great idea to engage in a shootout with Putnam deputies.

The Putnam County sheriff’s office said they received word of Ressler’s threats toward deputies early on Sunday morning stating Ressler had “armed himself intending to initiate an ‘active shooter’ situation with deputies and planned to ‘start a war.”

Another pro tip Glen, Putnam County Sheriff Homer Deloach, or as we call him up here in North Florida, “Gator” isn’t having it. So, Gator sent several deputies to Ressler’s home in Interlachen to check on him after hearing about his threats toward law enforcement officers.
Upon arrival at Ressler’s home, A deputy using night vision spotted Ressler approaching deputies and wearing a tactical vest while armed with four firearms and extra ammunition, the sheriff’s office said.
A photo released by the Sheriff’s office of Ressler’s seized firearms show an AR-15 pattern weapon with a scope, light, and a barrel mounted flare launcher that resembles a grenade launcher, a Chinese SKS rifle mounted into a side folding stock and two semi-automatic pistols.
Deputies said they were able to disarm Ressler “through dialog, exceptional skill and tactical planning.” Although Ressler wanted a war, he was taken into custody without incident.
Ressler was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, as well as one count of violation of a domestic violence injunction. He was transported to the Putnam County Jail in Palatka where he is being held without bond.
