Detectives from the Fort Myers police department went to 2828 Jackson Street in Fort Myers searching for Gaymon who was wanted for aggravated battery on a pregnant female, robbery, and grand theft auto.
When they arrived at the location, they spotted Gaymon in the stolen vehicle and attempted to get him out. That’s when Gaymon sped off out of the parking lot and struck one of the detectives as he fled. The chase was on!
I’ll let you in on a little secret. No matter what the department policy on pursuits is, you harm a law enforcement officer and you’re getting chased until the wheels fall off! Now back to our story.

A short while after fleeing, Gaymon crashed his stolen vehicle, bailed out and fled on foot. Pursuing units called on the Fort Myers police K9 unit to help with the search. Gaymon was found and apprehended at 2811 Central Avenue. Gaymon was now in custody but complaining of an injury to his ankle. I was hoping it was from a dog bite, but apparently, he turned his ankle jumping over a fence while being pursued.
Gaymon was taken to the hospital for treatment, and then a short time later was transported to the “Marceno Motel” for processing. Gaymon was charged with the original offenses of aggravated battery on a pregnant female, robbery, and grand theft auto. Due to the pursuit, he was also charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, felony fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, resisting arrest, and driving without a valid license.
Gaymon is being held on $35,000 bond.
