Florida Man Leaves Grill On After Dolphins Tailgating – Burns Up A Dozen Cars

An unidentified Florida man who left his grill on after a Dolphins game tailgate party is in trouble after he destroyed almost a dozen cars in the parking lot. It seems he neglected to put out the charcoal in his grill before placing it UNDER his car and going into the stadium to watch the game.

In an interview with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Scott Dellorfano, who lives in Jupiter, said he hadn’t seen the smoke from inside the stadium and wasn’t aware his 2019 Mercedes-Benz S63 had been among the destroyed until he approached the chaotic parking lot. He said about four or five cars in the row where he parked were burned, in addition to others in a nearby row.

“It was burnt to the ground … It was just gone, the wheels were gone, there was nothing left,” he said.

Dellorfano said a security guard who was monitoring the lot told him he believed someone pushed a grill that was still lit underneath their car, eventually causing the flames to consume that car and the others.

As the smoke billowed from the parking lot, ESPN’s NFL Nation reporter Marcel Louis-Jacques tweeted:

More than 10 cars were destroyed in the blaze in a remote parking lot, which was reported around 1:30 p.m. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded with over 10 units, and their investigation is ongoing. Luckily no one was injured, and the Dolphins beats the Patriots 20-7.
