Florida Man Daniel Boone,45, of Lake City, was arrested for breaking into three separate businesses in Lake City on highway U.S. 90 near the intersection of Bascom Norris Road.
Lake City Police Officers responded to three separate burglaries at Tire Mart, Zaxby’s, and the Roundtree Moore Ford dealership. During the span of the investigation, officers say it was discovered that all three incidents were related.

Lake City Police first responded to the Tire Mart at around 5:50 a.m. after an employee opening the business called 911 about a burglary to the company.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that someone had thrown an object through the window and gained entry. The employee fired up the video surveillance system for the responding officers, and they watched as a shirtless white male entered the business through the newly installed broken window. The suspect, later identified as Daniel Boone, walked through the business and rummaged through drawers, cabinets, and a company vehicle.
While investigating the burglary at Tire Mart, officers were informed of a burglary in progress at a couple of businesses down the street at Zaxby’s Chicken restaurant.
An employee arrived to open up the store and discovered the north entry door open. The employee entered the business, returned to the kitchen, and found a shirtless Daniel Boone enjoying chicken for breakfast.

According to the arrest affidavit, the chicken-eating suspect at the Zaxby’s matched the description of the suspect at Tire Mart and was identified as Daniel Boone.
Officers then responded to a report of an over-with burglary at the Rountree Moore Ford dealership next to Saxby’s. An employee arrived for work and advised officers that several vehicles had been searched.
Upon questioning, officers say Boone said he broke the Tire Mart window and entered the building. He also told officers he entered the Zaxby’s and ate chicken. He also confessed to entering several vehicles at Roundtree Moore Ford.

Boone was arrested and transported to the Columbia County Jail, where he was charged with two counts of commercial burglary, criminal mischief/property damage, and trespassing. His bond was set at $12,000, and Daniel Boone remains in jail
