Orlando Police officers responded to the Hideaway bar at approximately 6:00 p.m. Sunday after dispatch received 911 calls about a Dodge pickup truck that drove into the bar.

Upon arrival, OPD officers found the pickup partially inside the Hideaway bar, located on Virginia Drive near Alden Road in the Ivanhoe Village shopping center, and bar patrons surrounded the vehicle. The vehicle’s driver was identified as Jackson M. Click, who remained at the crash scene.

Four of the bar patrons were transported to the local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, with one of the victims suffering from a cut on her face which could likely cause permanent scarring.

It’s yet unknown why Click crashed into the bar, but he certainly caused some extensive remodeling to the building.

The manager of the Hideaway said no bar employees were hurt and that Click was inside the bar as a patron before the crash. The bar has been in the same location for years and is a hangout for Dolphins fans on game day. The manager stated the bar would reopen as soon as possible.

Click appeared to be impaired and submitted to a field sobriety test. Click failed the field test, and OPD officers found probable cause to arrest him. He took a ride down to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office DUI testing facility for a breathalyzer test, where Click admitted the incident was “the stupidest decision that I ever made,” according to an OCSO alcohol influence report.

After testing, Click was transported to the Orange County Jail where he was charged with DUI with serious bodily injury and his bond was set at $5,000.
