Florida Man Charged With DUI After He Crashes Into a Tree at the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office
Florida Man Timothy Wright, 24, of Milton, was arrested around 3 a.m. Friday morning, and charged with Driving Under the Influence after he managed to drive into a tree in front of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. at the Santa Rosa County sheriff’s office at 5755 E. Milton Road.

Wright was driving on E. Milton Road as he entered the curve; he crossed the center line and into the oncoming lane. He continued to travel through the open grassy area of the sheriff’s office headquarters & County Jail. The vehicle struck the only tree in that section and overturned near the sheriff’s office parking lot.

“During the collision investigation, the investigating Trooper observed multiple signs of impairment displayed by the driver,” FHP says in its release. “A DUI investigation was conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert, and the driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence.”

He is being held in Santa Rosa County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
