Florida Man Bitten by 9-Foot Gator While Washing Hands in Pond
An unidentified Florida man, 25, sustained a severe injury when he was bitten by a 9-foot alligator last Thursday morning.
According to the Sanibel Police Department, a 25-year-old man was attacked around 11:06 a.m. near a pond at 2477 Periwinkle Way in Sanibel.
Sanibel police stated that the victim was, fortunately, able to break himself free from the gator’s jaws and call 911 for help. While waiting on the Sanibel Fire Department to arrive, persons on the scene applied a tourniquet to the victim’s arm.
When Sanibel police officers arrived on the scene, they determined that the victim had been using the pond to wash his hands off when the submerged alligator surfaced and bit him.
After sustaining a serious injury to his right forearm, Lee County EMS transported him to a local hospital for treatment. The current condition of the victim is still unknown at this time.

While living in Florida under America’s Governor Ron DeSantis is great, always remember there are some dangers to be dealt with. We have poisonous snakes, pythons that will squeeze the life out of you, bears that will attack you (unless you feed them Chick-fil-A), stingrays and jellyfish that will sting you, sharks that will bite and eat you, and large alligators that will latch on and drag you underwater to their cave.
So, let’s be careful out there, folks.
