Florida Man Attempts to Rob an Arcade with a BB Gun – Shot With Real Gun
Florida Man Chad Mitchell Waldrep, 48, of Hollywood, is heading to jail via the hospital after he decided to rob an arcade in Clewiston with a BB gun.
Officers with the Clewiston Police Department responded to reports of an attempted armed robbery at about 2 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to a press release posted to the department’s Facebook page.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a man, later identified as Waldrep, wearing a mask, walked into the arcade with a gun and demanded that everyone get on the ground.

An armed security guard at the arcade wasn’t having it and fired a single shot at Waldrep before he fled the scene.
Police said officers did an area search of the scene and found a black BB gun which they believed to have been used by Waldrep during the robbery.
Shortly after, officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked at an apartment complex, with a man slumped over the steering wheel.
Upon the officer’s arrival, Waldrep drove off and led police on a vehicle pursuit in the vehicle that had been reported stolen.
After a short chase, Officers caught up with Waldrep and placed him in custody. After being arrested, Waldrep told officers he had been shot earlier in the morning.

When officers checked to confirm his story, paramedics were called, and Waldrep was airlifted to Henry Regional Medical Center
Police said evidence collected during the attempted robbery investigation linked Waldrep, a convicted felon, to the armed robbery at the arcade.
“Calling in suspicious activity can play a critical role in preventing crime, solving crime, and saving lives,’ Clewiston Police Chief Tom Lewis said. “See something, say something.”

Police are still conducting an investigation into the stolen vehicle, and additional charges are pending.
