Florida Man Arrested for Shoplifting During ‘Shop With A Cop’ Event
Florida Man, who has only been identified as “Brad,” picked the wrong time and place to go shoplifting because he did so at the St. Cloud Walmart during a Shop with a Cop event. Folks, there’s about a month left in 2022, and we have a new contender running for the Florida Man of The Year Award.

Brad is legally blind because he didn’t see all the marked police cars outside in the Walmart parking lot and decided to go inside. After he went inside, he did not see approximately forty deputies and police officers, the community services team, the community service officers, Osceola Sheriff’s office majors, command staff, or Osceola Sheriff Marcos Lopez himself.
After his arrest, deputies took photos of Brad in the Walmart parking lot. Surprisingly, Brad possessed bolt cutters, gloves, and a small plastic baggie containing a white substance.

Oh, #Florida! Pro-tip: If you're going to steal from Wal-Mart, DO NOT do it during a Shop with a Cop event when there are nearly 40 deputies in the store. https://t.co/XGZziSdmd7 via @MadeleineMarr

Exclusive: School Board Chair curses out school police
I’m not sure how Brad couldn’t figure this one out. I have participated in a Shop with a Cop event. There were signs posted everywhere for the event, local media was in attendance, marked police cars around, and a whole bunch of school buses lined up in the parking lot to transport the kids back to school.
The Osceola Sheriff’s Office posted Brad on social media and the arrest on their Facebook page.
Seriously we just can’t make this up. Brad decided to steal from our good neighbors and partners at Walmart in St. Cloud while we were conducting the Shop with a Cop event with the children of our community. Bad news, Brad! The store was full of deputies, almost 40, beside the forensics team, the community services team, the CSOs, the OCSO Majors, and Sheriff Marcos R. Lopez. Bad idea, Brad.
Although Brad was unsuccessful with his shoplifting attempt, he provided a teachable moment. The young folks at the Shop with a Cop event learned what happens when you attempt to steal the property of others.
