Florida Homeless Man Threatens to Kill Everyone at Gainesville Wawa

Florida Man Steven Carl Mills, 63, of the GRACE Marketplace, a one-stop homeless resource center in Gainesville, was arrested late Saturday night after he allegedly caused a disturbance at the Wawa at 1007 E. University Avenue, close to the campus of the University of Florida by saying he would kill everyone in the store.

At about 10:40 p.m. Saturday, Mills allegedly used profanity with employees and customers of the store and said he would kill everyone.

A Wawa employee told mills that he needed to leave the property immediately or he would call the police. Mills allegedly refused to leave the premises and told the employee he would kill him.

When a Gainesville Police Department officer arrived, she reportedly saw Steven Mills standing on the north side of the property, waving his arms around. Another officer allegedly saw that Mills was refusing an employee’s request to leave the property after he was formally trespassed by the employee.

A search incident to arrest reportedly produced a glass pipe and a brillo pad with an unknown burnt substance, also known as a “crack pipe,” used to ingest illegal narcotics.

Mills has been charged with trespass after warning and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He has no local arrests but has convictions in St. Johns and Hillsborough Counties; he has served two state prison sentences.

In May 2015, St. Johns County deputies found materials used in manufacturing methamphetamine after serving a search warrant on Colee Street.
