Florida Cosmetic Doctor Who Drugged and Sexually Assaulted Patients Found Dead

Florida cosmetic doctor’s death, Eric Andrew Salata, 54 of Naples, is being investigated by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office. Salata was arrested at his office on November 19 and accused of giving patients at his Naples based Pura Vita Medical Spa anesthesia and sometimes alcohol prior to surgery and sexually assaulting them while they were under sedation.

He was charged with two counts of sexual battery to a physically helpless person and had an initial court date set for December 19th.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Facebook page:

“During the previous four weeks, the Naples Police Department received complaints from women who advised being sexually battered while receiving cosmetic medical treatments,”

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office incident report, deputies were dispatched to the 4800 block of Gail Boulevard in Naples to conduct a welfare check on Salata Monday.

Upon arrival they met with an unidentified person who told the deputy Salata left two handwritten notes, his wedding ring, and other items at his home. The reporting individual became worried and spoke with personnel who managed his ankle monitor and advised them of the situation.

An employee at the company then contacted the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and said Salata’s monitor showed him parking at his home at 10 a.m. and walking toward Gail Boulevard. His ankle monitor did report any movement after reaching Gail boulevard.

The deputy searched the doctor’s last known location and observed a boot sticking out of a ditch in the wooded area nearby. As he approached, the deputy saw Salata’s body in a ditch with a gunshot wound to the head and a pistol lying next to his right leg. Salata “appeared to be freshly deceased,” according to the report.

A spokesperson for the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said the late doctor’s death did not appear suspicious, but his cause of death must be officially determined by the Collier County medical examiner.
