‘Fantasyland Poll’ Liberal Peter Schorsch of FloridaPolitics Rips Poll Showing Dems Ahead
Florida Democrats are currently down in the polls in every statewide race.
DeSantis is polling well ahead of Democratic challenger and former Congressman Charlie Crist, with the current RealClearPolitics average showing him ahead by 7.8 percent and the most recent Mason Dixon poll showing him ahead by 11 percent.
The Florida Governor currently holds the highest approval rating of any major US politician on either side of the aisle.

A recent survey from SimilarPoll shows challengers Charlie Crist and Val Demings ahead of incumbents Ron DeSantis and Marco Rubio.
The poll is the only one to date that shows both Democratic candidates ahead.
Peter Schorsch of Florida Politics wrote a scathing article taking the wind out of Democrat’s sails calling the poll a ‘Fantasyland poll.’
He begins by calling it ‘horribly unscientific.’
“Polls are fickle little things. But this one is either horribly unscientific, or the numbers are just bequeathed from somewhere out in La La Land.” He said.

Schorsch then highlights the disparities in the poll between the number of people who claim that they intend to vote on election day and the actual results of the 2018 midterm elections.
The results of the poll indicate that 43% of people will vote on election day, while only 36% did in the 2018 elections prior to the Covid-19 pandemic
Perhaps the most significant flaw in the poll arises from the fact that it was a nationwide poll that was not even conducted in Florida.
“The problem may be quite simple: It’s not specific to Florida. The poll is conducted nationwide, meaning it’s possible not everyone responding lives in or is even all that familiar with Florida elections.” Schorsch says.
Schorsch ends by offering a harsh reality check to Florida Democrats who have campaigned on social issues such as abortion and the DeSantis’ ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill rather than focusing on the economy.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Ca. recently dismissed polls that claimed inflation and the economy were the top issues for voters.

“One thing the SimilarPoll gets right is this: The top issue facing voters this cycle is inflation and the cost of living, followed by the economy, issues Republicans dominate, especially when a Democrat occupies the White House.
So let’s evaluate. On what planet do Democrats running statewide, in a state that now has a voter registration advantage for Republicans (who historically turn out in higher volume than Democrats), over-perform in an election when their top issues aren’t even voters’ biggest concerns?”
Well said, Peter.
