Elon Musk Says California School Infected His Child With ‘Woke Mind Virus’

A new biography on Elon Musk sheds light on the tech mogul’s anti-woke leanings, revealing that they were “partly triggered” by his teenage son’s gender transition and descent into far-left politics. According to the forthcoming book by Walter Isaacson, Musk’s takeover of Twitter in 2022 was set in motion after Xavier Musk–now Vivian Jenna Wilson–became a “fervent Marxist” while attending school in California.

Musk’s child was 16 when he began to identify as a girl. While Musk reportedly supported the decision initially, Wilson later changed his name to distance himself from his father. Wilson reportedly grew to resent Musk for his wealth, believing him to be “evil.”

According to Isaacson, Musk’s son first announced his decision to transition in a text to his aunt.

“Hey, I’m transgender, and my name is now Jenna. Don’t tell my dad.”

An excerpt from the upcoming biography was published in the Wall Street Journal:

“When Musk found out, he was generally sanguine, but then Jenna became a fervent Marxist and broke off all relations with him. ‘She went beyond socialism to being a full communist and thinking that anyone rich is evil,’ he says. The rift pained him more than anything in his life since the infant death of his firstborn child Nevada. ‘I’ve made many overtures,’ he says, ‘but she doesn’t want to spend time with me.’

The Tesla CEO blamed the decision on the “woke mind virus” his son had been infected with while attending a progressive school in California. Musk attributed Wilson’s newfound leftist politics to the ideology he was fed in the classroom.

“He blamed it partly on the ideology he felt that Jenna imbibed at Crossroads, the progressive school she attended in Los Angeles.” ~ Walter Isaacson

Crossroads is located in an upper-class neighborhood in Santa Monica, with an annual tuition rate of $50,000. An excerpt from the school’s website reads:

“Social justice is woven throughout every student’s experience at Crossroads, informing the lens through which they see the world. The K-12 curriculum provides students with a progressively nuanced exploration of historical and current-day inequities: locally, nationally and internationally.”

He made his name change official two years after Wilson’s transition.

“I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”

According to Isaacson, Musk’s estrangement from his daughter was a primary factor that led to his takeover of Twitter in 2022. Just six months after Wilson legally changed his name, Musk acquired the social media platform for more than $44 billion.

“Twitter, he felt, had become infected by a similar mindset that suppressed right-wing and anti-establishment voices.”

Around 80 percent of Twitter’s staff were reported to have been let go in the subsequent months. In an April interview with Tucker Carlson, Musk explained,

“Turns out you don’t need all that many people to run Twitter. If you’re not trying to run some kind of glorified activist organisation, and you’re not caring that much about censorship, you can really let go of a lot of people it turns out.”
